The first month of the quarter has really picked up some steam! It has taken off so much that it is projected to almost surpass the 2 month during next quarter. Only time will tell if it is able to produce a higher amount of dividend income.
The month of January proved to be a very busy month for me. I was able to put in some extra hours at work which only added to my savings rate for the month.
There are also several new additions coming to More Dividends in the near future. I am very excited to start rolling out some of them so that I can start getting some feedback from you the readers.
During January, we saw a little bit of everything. Let’s take a look at what has happened in the More Dividends portfolio since last month.
During the month of January, there were a lot of additions to the More Dividends Portfolio. I was able to strengthen some of my existing positions like with Cardinal Health. I even started some new positions like with JP MOrgan Chase. They are a best of breed bank who has proven that they know how to grow their earnings.
Cardinal Health (CAH) – 4 shares
JP Morgan Chase (JPM) – 10 shares
3M (MMM) – 3 shares
Store Capital (STOR) – 6 shares
As I mentioned in the intro, the 1st month of the quarter has really began to grow. It has been real interesting to watch it grow over time. I look forward to seeing just how big I can grow the beginning of the quarter.
Cardinal Health (CAH) – $7.41 – Reinvested
Genuine Parts (GPC) – $4.85 – Reinvested
Manhattan Bridge Capital (LOAN) – $.69 – Reinvested
Altria Group (MO) – $35.69 – Reinvested

January was the first month of Q1 and accounted for $66.68 of my 2020 Dividend Income.
In total during 2020, I earned $ $66.68 in dividend income!
So far my dividends received looks like this
Dividends Received By Year
What a great month year over year. In 2019, I received $28.43 but in 2020, I received a total of $66.68. Wow if you do the math that is a 134.5% increase in my dividend income during the month of January.
Here we can see what that 134% looks like. We have made huge strides in increasing the dividend income and we are now beginning to reap the benefits.
I hope that you guys are digging the new visuals 🙂
When we look at the break down of the companies that paid me dividends we can really see where the large increase came from. The culprit is definitely the increase in the Altria Group position.
With the new position in JP Morgan Chase, it increased my stake in the financials by 3%. I am totally comfortable with this increase in the financial sector. I would actually still be ok if it went as high as 15%. Only time will tell if it grows to see those kind of numbers.
The portfolio has been seeing some great growth. I have been able to put a lot of money to work lately. Plus I have been having record breaking months in regards to dividend income received. All of these factor into my snowball getting such a boost.
Let’s take a look at what the growth has really done to the portfolio.
