MetLife has a 4% Dividend Increase in 2023

On April 27th, MetLife announced a dividend increase of 4%. This will increase their dividend from $0.50 to $0.52. It is payable on June 14th for shareholders of record on May 9th. The new dividend represents an annualized dividend amount of $2.08 per share as compared to the previous annualized dividend amount of $2.00 per share.

Dividend Increase Effect

I am currently holding 19.697 shares of MetLife stock in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 4% increase it will add an additional $1.57 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn’t even take into account the compounding factor! That brings the new grand total up to $2,559.82.

Current Stock Position

As I mentioned in my previous article, I purchased these shares of MetLife at a time when I was looking to expand my exposure to the insurance industry. Since that time MetLife has performed pleasantly. They have continued to increase their dividend while creating value for their shareholders.

Like a lot of my positions, the share price has increased more than my cost basis so I struggle with the right time to add to this position.

Until I see that right time, I will continue to be a patient investor.

Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends 😉
