On April 18th, Johnson & Johnson announced a dividend increase of 5.3%. This will increase their dividend from $1.13 to $1.19. It is payable on June 6th for shareholders of record on May 23rd. The new dividend represents an annualized dividend amount of $4.76 per share as compared to the previous annualized dividend amount of $4.52 per share.

Dividend Increase Effect

I am currently holding 8.722 shares of Johnson & Johnson stock in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 5.3% increase it will add an additional $2.11 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn’t even take into account the compounding factor! That brings the new grand total up to $2,541.75.

Current Stock Position

Johnson & Johnson is a position that I started in early 2020. Since then I have added to the position but since that time the share price has went up above my cost basis. So even though I have thought about it recently as of yet have I added more to the position.

All of the recent headlines involving the company will surely talk about the talc lawsuit case. Despite, the headlines and the litigation I think the company will do fine over the long term.

I would love to add to this position but until that time I will remain a patient investor.

Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends 😉
