More Dividends Update From May 2017

Welcome back readers. I appreciate everyone who stops by and reads the blogs and leaves comments. It is awesome being able to interact with other people who are on their own quest for financial independence.
Another month has passed and there wasn’t a lot of action in my portfolio. No new purchases happened but I did move some of my holdings because of Loyal3 shutting down. I have been looking for some purchases lately but haven’t found nothing that interested me a whole lot. Hopefully some new opportunities will present themselves soon. Since there wasn’t a lot of action this month, I will go ahead and get right into the update.
Additions
During May, there were no new additions to my portfolio.
Dividends Received
Apple (AAPL) – $1.14
General Mills (GIS) – $5.76 – Reinvested
Hormel (HRL) – $0.51
Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) – $21.59 – Reinvested
Stag Industrial (STAG) – $1.28
WestRock (WRK) – $5.73 – Reinvested
May was the second month of Q2 and accounted for $36.01 of my 2017 Dividend Income.
So far my dividends received looks like this
Dividends Received By Year
As we can see here I have had some great year over year growth. 585% is no laughing matter. Hopefully I can continue this kind of growth in the future but it is not something that I am expecting.
Portfolio Allocation
With no new additions to my portfolio it caused there to not be much change to the allocation of the portfolio. The slight change was only caused by the movement of the stock market its self. I like my current allocation because it seems to be very well spread out across many sectors.
Current Portfolio
This snapshot of my portfolio is actually from the first week of June but it is a pretty good representation of where my portfolio was for this update.

Conclusion
May turned out to be a pretty calm month for me but my portfolio still works for me. That is the great thing about investing in dividend stocks. Even when I’m sitting idle, my portfolio will continue to work for me. I will continue to look for opportunities to put some new capital to work. If anyone has any good companies that they are watching, I would love to hear about them.

Great work! That year-over-year increase in investment income is nothing to sneeze at! Well done. It’s great that you’re able to keep growing your snowball with minimal effort. Hope next month’s dividends are even better!

Good job. nice increase next goal is seeing that over 25.00 slow and steady wins the race. not that it is a race but its fun to watch dividends grow. Keep it up

Calm month or active month, those dividends keep rolling in. Nice seeing some common names paying us. I’m reinvesting my GIS and HRL dividends. Not familiar with WRK at all. In that space I hold BMS and at one time IP too. Your May ’15, 16′ and ’17 results are only pointing up, up and up! Keep going.
