Dividend Increase: Flowers Foods
Recently, Flowers Foods announced that they would be increasing their quarterly dividend from $0.16 to $0.17 per share which represents a 6.3% increase in the quarterly dividend. I love when I get a raise for doing absolutely nothing, no matter how small it is. This dividend increase will only increase my PADI by $1.32. That is not accounting for the compounding factor.
When I see companies that I own stock in making these increases, it just reminds me that I made a good decision when I decided to invest in them in the first place. Flowers Foods is a great company that I was able to purchase at a nice price because of volatility that was created because of some bad press at the time. Nice job! Well done getting in at the right time and continuing to hold. I love the way you put it: getting a raise for doing absolutely nothing! 🙂
