Dividend Increase Effect
I am currently holding 11.549 shares of Walmart stock in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 1.8% increase it will add an additional $0.46 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn’t even take into account the compounding factor! That brings the new grand total up to $2,437.44.
This dividend increase makes a very small impact on my portfolio. It is great that the company has been increasing their dividend for 50 consecutive years now. Despite the possibilty of a decline in their future earnings in the short term, I still see the company having the ability to continue to increase their dividend for many more years to come.

Current Stock Position
I imagine that everyone on the planet has heard and probably shopped at a Walmart. I hold a small position in the company and that is only because the share price has more than doubled since I initiated the position.
I didn’t have much capital to invest with back then so I had to start with smaller positions. I was able to build onto a lot of my other positions but that was not the case with Walmart. Almost immediately, after starting the position the share price began to rise.
I have always tried to standby the rule of never buying when the share price is above my cost basis. So I have never added onto the Walmart position.
If I ever see a day when the share price comes back down, I would love to be able to add onto this position until then I will continue to allow this position to compound the dividends.
Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends 😉
Do you currently hold any stock in Walmart? What do you think of this dividend increase? Just let me know in the comments.
As always I look forward to reading all of your comments and questions, until then….. happy investing!
