Coca Cola Increases Their Dividend by 4.5% in 2023

On February 16th, Coca Cola announced a dividend increase of 4.5%. This will increase their dividend from $0.44 to $0.46. It is payable on April 3rd for shareholders of record on March 17th. The new dividend represents an annualized dividend amount of $1.84 per share as compared to the current annualized dividend amount of $1.76 per share.

Dividend Increase Effect

I am currently holding 16.811 shares of Coca Cola stock in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 4.5% increase it will add an additional $1.35 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn’t even take into account the compounding factor! That brings the new grand total up to $2,436.98.

I took a hit when I lost the dividend income from Store Capital but I am slowly repairing the damage with new purchases and compounding dividends. It shouldn’t take that long before I have that grand total back over the $2,500 mark.

Current Stock Position

I have been holding this position in Coca Cola for many years now. I really wished that I had built the position larger when I initiated it. Unfortunately, I built it as large as I could afford at the time.

Now days, I am just hoping that the share price will drop below my cost basis because I know that over the long term this will be great stock to have to help me compound those dividends.

The company has so many great brands that earn over a billion dollars a year with no end in sight. The company has a lot more to offer than just it’s traditional Coca Cola brand so even though consumer taste may be shifting, the company has plenty of brands that will supply all consumers with a brand that they will enjoy. That sounds very advantageous in my book so I hope to be able to add to this position.

Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends 😉
