Recent Buy – AT&T (T) Again
The market has been seeing quite a bit of volatility lately. Some days it is up and some days it is down. With this volatility comes a lot of opportunities to buy stock in some good companies. As we have been seeing lately from the buys of other DGI bloggers the opportunities change from week to week.
It was just 3 months ago that I initiated a position in AT&T. Well early last week I made the decision to add to that position. I was able to lower my cost basis by several dollars while buying stock in a good company.

Recap of Information on AT&T
A lot of the information on AT&T is the same as when I discussed it in my first AT&T buy article.
It is worth noting that AT&T is still in court about the merger with Time Warner.
Also recently in the news was the headline about the CEO of AT&T paying President Trump’s attorney although this doesn’t affect the way in which the business is ran.
AT&T Impact on More Dividends
I added 21 shares of AT&T at an average price of $31.99. This addition to my portfolio will add $42.00 to my project annual dividend income not including the compounding factor. My current position in AT&T contributes $66.37 to my projected annual dividend income.
Conclusion
I really like my purchase here. Not only was I able to more than double my position in AT&T but I was also able to lower my cost basis by almost $4 a share. This company is my only holding in the telecom sector but they are an industry leader. I love buying good blue chip dividend paying stocks and AT&T definitely fits that description.
Have you recently purchased stock in AT&T? Do you currently own any shares of AT&T? If so I would love to hear about it.
As always I look forward to reading all of your comments and questions, until then….. happy investing!

Hi Jason, I already have a pretty good size position in both T and VZ. T’s yield looks very attractive, but I will probably look for other opportunities to diversify. I added to my position in CLX on Monday. Tom

CLX has seen a lot of action lately. I may need to take a look at the company too.
Hi Jason, I don’t own T, as it’s more of a high-yielder, and I lean toward holding more dividend-paying growth stocks. However, being able to average down on a name you like seems like a good idea. The price appears to be at a good level – its lowest level in the past 5 years.

yeah, it is at a low level so I think it is a good time for a position. For now, I am just going to hold and not looking to add any more in less the stock makes a huge dip.
Yeah, I own T. Got in around $40 and averaged down to a price of $36.
I am a bit worried about the heavy debt load once the takeover of TWX gets approves.
T is a great position. It is a slow grower but it pays a very nice dividend. Thanks for stopping by Glenn!
