Johnson & Johnson Increases Their Dividend by 6.6% in 2022 !!!

Dividend Increase Announcement

On April 19th, Johnson & Johnson announced a dividend increase of 6.6%. This will increase their dividend per quarter from $1.06 to $1.13. It is payable on June 7th for shareholders of record on May 24th. The new quarterly dividend represents an annualized dividend amount of $4.24 per share as compared to the current annualized dividend amount of $4.52 per share.

Dividend Increase Effect

I am currently holding 8.54 shares of Johnson & Johnson in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 6.6% increase it will add an additional $2.05 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn’t even take into account the compounding factor!

Current Stock Position

Johnson & Johnson is still a relatively new position for me. I began this position in March of 2020 just as the lockdown for the pandemic was about to begin. Since that time, I have held the position and have reinvested the dividends.

I would love to add to this position but like a lot of my other positions the share price is way above my cost basis. There was a point when Johnson & Johnson started making the headlines for some legal cases that I thought I might finally get a buying opporunity but unfortunately that never came into fruition.

For the time being, I will continue to be patient and hold this position and let the dividends continue to compound.

Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends 😉
