Walmart Increases Their Dividend by 2% in 2022 !!!

On February 17th, Walmart announced a dividend increase of 2%. This will increase their dividend per quarter from $0.55 to $0.56. It is payable on April 4th for shareholders of record on March 18th. The new quarterly dividend represents an annualized dividend amount of $2.24 per share as compared to the current annualized dividend amount of $2.20 per share.

Dividend Increase Effect
I am currently holding 11.363 shares of Walmart stock in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 2% increase it will add an additional $0.45 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn’t even take into account the compounding factor!
Current Stock Position
Walmart is a great company. I have been holding this stock for many years now. I have no intentions of ever selling it and would actually love to add onto the position some day.
When I originally bought this stock everyone was saying that Amazon was going to shut Walmart down. I knew that was just hype so I gladly bought the stock. I have been holding it for years and have been reaping the benefits of the dividends as well as the growth in the share price that the company has seen over the past few years.
I will continue to be a patient investor until the next buying opportunity comes around.
Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends 😉
