More Dividends Update from February 2017
Welcome back. What another great month that it has been. I hope that everyone has been prospering very well. The market is continuing to soar to new heights on a daily basis. Currently the market is up over $21k. It is getting harder and harder to find good buying opportunities.
During February, I have been able to get back into the swing of blogging more, I added some stocks to my portfolio as well as receiving dividends. So I have been able to continue growing my portfolio despite the market being priced so expensively. So let’s jump in and look at the update for February.
Additions
During February, despite the market being so expensive I decided to open a new position in my Portfolio.
Pfizer (PFE) – 21 shares – adds $26.88 to my yearly income
This will add $26.88 to Dividend Income for the year.
I will continue to look for good buying opportunities and continue to either establish new or build onto existing positions.
Dividends Received
Apple (AAPL) – $1.22
Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) – $20.83 – Reinvested
STAG Industrial (STAG) – $1.28
WestRock (WRK) – $5.69- Reinvested
February was the second month of Q1 and accounted for $29.02 of my 2017 Dividend Income.
So far my dividends received looks like this
Dividends Received By Year
2017 marks the first year that I have even received a dividend during the month of February. In 2015 I had not even bought my first stock yet and then by February in 2016 I had sold my only stock that would have paid me a dividend. This is a pleasant change and I hope that I can produce some great yoy growth in February next year.
Portfolio Allocation
During this month with my Recent Buy of Pfizer it allowed me to allocate some capital to the Healthcare sector. This is my first time owning stock directly in this sector. While my allocation is spread out across several sectors, some are still weighted a bit heavier than others. I will continue to keep my eye on this and try to not to have too much capital allocated to one sector.
Current Portfolio
My portfolio is full of some great companies which have been working hard for me so far. I believe that my portfolio is growing nicely and thus far has been allocated pretty evenly. I am very happy with where my portfolio is headed and am currently looking to add some more to it if the buying opportunity presents itself.

Conclusion
February was a pretty good month. Things are continuing to grow nicely. I feel like I am starting to see a little bit of of the snowball effect when I look at my graph for dividend income. It is a very rewarding and motivating thing to see. I will continue to search out good ways to put more money to work here in my Portfolio.

Great progress with your dividends and portfolio too. Slowly but surely you’ll build out a solid, well diversified portfolio of dividend payers and hopefully create an ever increasing passive income stream. I’d love to add some more funds to my health stocks but not at current levels. Names like JNJ, BDX and CAH come to mind. Thanks for sharing.
