More Dividends Update From August 2017
Hey there readers and fellow bloggers. It has been awhile since I have posted any new updates on the website. I hope that all has been going well for everyone. There hasn’t been a whole lot of action going on lately. I took a vacation to Minnesota and visited Wisconsin while I was up that way. It was a nice trip because we got to see some beautiful scenery and to see some friends. Other than the vacation I have just been reinvesting my dividends. With that being said let’s just jump into the update for August.
Additions
During August, I didn’t make any new additions. Other than adding to my Acorns account and reinvesting dividends.
Dividends Received
August was a decent month for me. I am slowly getting the ball rolling with dividends during this month. So let’s take a look at the dividends that I received.
Apple (APPL) – $1.26 – Reinvested
General Mills (GIS) – $5.93 – Reinvested
Hormel (HRL) – $1.36
Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) – $22.35 – Reinvested
STAG Industrial (STAG) – $1.28
WestRock (WRK) – $5.78 – Reinvested
August was the second month of Q3 and accounted for $37.97 of my 2017 Dividend Income.
So far my dividends received looks like this
Dividends Received By Year
This was definitely my best August thus far. I more than doubled my dividend income from last year. This is great to see and hope to continue having such great returns in the future. Lets check out how my dividend income looks by year.
Portfolio Allocation
This month I have slightly changed the format on my graph. It is just some small differences but I may make some more tweaks to it in the future.
My allocation didn’t change a whole lot. I did add my Acorns account into my allocation which slightly affected the Finance sector and brought it down to only a 15% allocation. Overall since there hasn’t been a lot of changes in this portfolio, you can’t very well expect there to be a lot of changes in the allocation. This is what it currently looks like.
Current Portfolio
The More Dividends portfolio has grown nicely. I am currently well diversified in several different sectors. Despite some of my holdings being in the red my overall portfolio is still sitting in the black. It is growing nicely with reinvested dividends and new additions. I have been checking out several companies lately and maybe one of them will make their way into my portfolio soon. Until then here is what my portfolio currently looks like.

Conclusion
August turned out to be a decent month. The snowball is growing in momentum and that is great to see. I am getting to the point where I am can see the addition of whole shares because of reinvested dividends which to me is a great accomplishment. Time is running down but I intend to fully maximize the tax benefit of my RothIRA account before the end of the tax year so look for some more additions coming soon.
I’m really looking forward to my September update because it will be a big one.

Thanks for the update, and congratulations on the great dividend growth over last year – it’s awesome to see the percentage gains. Especially because at this rate it’s likely to continue!

Thanks Jay! Yeah, I hope that as my portfolio value grows that I am still able to continue making such growth. I guess only time will tell. Thanks for stopping by!
Great report More Dividends and I’m also looking forward to what’s in store for September. It will definitely be a great achievement when you make enough in dividends to cover the purchase of a whole share of stock. I’m trying to get to that spot as well.
