More Dividends Update from March 2022

More Dividends - Dividends Income

March was an amazing month. The portfolio set a new high for dividend income in a month. The previous record was $203.22 but after this month the new record is $205.18. It wasn’t a huge jump but it was definitely enough to set a new high score!

New stock purchases have continued during the month of March. I was able to strengthen a couple of my existing positions. I will cover more of this later on but just know that it feels amazing to be adding to my portfolio again. It had been awhile since I contributed regularly so it has been a welcomed change.

Plus, I was able to get in several good hikes and was able to post some of the pics and videos on the adventurous.md Instagram page. It is always nice to get out in the fresh air and go on new adventures. With that being said, I do have several more trips planned for this month. So be on the lookout for those new pics and videos.

Not only did I get in the hiking trips but I also went out and played several games of disc golf. I played some with old friends and family. Plus I met some new friends while playing as well. My arm has started feeling better when I go out and play but I am still wearing a brace just because I am worried about throwing it out again. As much as I love disc golf, I am not willing to injury myself so that I wouldn’t be able to work my normal job.

Overall, the month went really well and I am excited to see what all April has in store for me but until then how about we take a look back at how things went during the month of April.

Dividends Received

Isn’t this the most exciting section? This is where I get to mention again that I set an all time high for dividend income received in a month. It has taken me a number of years to build it up this much but I can really see where the portfolio has began doing a lot of work towards growing.

I will continue to make contributions to this portfolio but it is nice to see more dividends coming in every month because of organic growth.

So, let’s have a look at what companies paid me a dividend in March.

Archer Daniel Midland (ADM) – $5.49 – Reinvested

Bank of America (BAC) – $15.85 – Reinvested

Dividends Received By Year

There isn’t a single bad thing that I can say about the month of March. Because it is the last month of the quarter the dividend income is always higher than most other months.

I was very surprised to learn that the portfolio saw a 25% increase in dividend income year over year during the month of March. I am not 100% sure if that growth was created by my contributions or because of organic growth in the portfolio.

Portfolio Allocation

No major moves in the markets has left my portfolio allocation looking pretty much the same as it did last month. The additional shares of BP and Verizon would have altered the allocation a small amount but it wouldn’t have been enough to even notice it on the portfolio allocation pie chart.

Financial – 13.3%
Industrial – 2.0%
Consumer Goods – 18.4%
REIT – 10.0%
Technology – 7.8%
Utility – 3.8%
Services – 3.2%
Retail – 10.4%
Energy – 6.9%
Consumer Staples – 1.9%
Healthcare – 10.1%
Telecom – 5.0%
Materials – 1.4%
Defense – 3.4%
Insurance – 2.5%

Current Portfolio

During the month of March, I continued to strengthen my positions in BP and Verizon. I have been doing this by using dollar cost averaging. I think that both companies are currently undervalued so I will continue to add a little bit to each position until I build a solid position in both companies.

I am looking to free up some new capital and to move it into this portfolio and if that does happen, just sit back and watch me go on a buying spree.

Before that happens though, let’s take a look at what the state of the current portfolio looks like.

Conclusion

Another one down and the adventure continues.

Isn’t life just the greatest thing ever. I am out in the world working hard and my portfolio is out in the world working hard. The great thing is even when I decide that I don’t want to work so hard, my portfolio continues working even harder for me every month.

With my portfolio, I do not lose any sleep at night. So when I decide to go on a hiking trip or go out and play a game of disc golf then I just go and do it. I’m living this life to do things that I enjoy and investing in dividend stocks is one of the things that helps facilitate that.

As always I look forward to reading all of your comments and questions, until then….. happy investing!!!
