Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins

Unlimited Power : The New Science Of Personal Achievement is the book that I chose to read this month. I am a great fan of Tony Robbins. I have listened to countless hours of his seminars and learned a lot from him. Lately, I have found myself reading a lot of personal development books. So this book was perfect for my recent book choices.

I am not exactly sure when I acquired this book since it has been sitting on my shelf for a couple of years but what I do know is that I picked it up as a used book for probably $0.50 or a $1.00. Needless to say, it is an older printing of the book. It is so old in fact that the author is listed as Anthony Robbins and the picture is a much younger man than the one on the cover today. If you are interested in picking up a newer copy of the book all you have to do is click on the image or the affiliate link above and it will take you to Amazon where you can purchase your own copy.

Summary of Unlimited Power

Unlimited Power : The New Science Of Personal Achievement is a personal development book written by Tony Robbins that was first published in 1986. Although it was written many years ago a lot of the information is still relevant today.

My edition of the book has 414 pages and it will hold your attention from beginning to the end. Early on in the book the author teaches how to have power of yourself. If you have something in your life that upsets you, he shows how you can reprogram yourself to be happy about the thing that would upset you before. He does this by getting you to visualize the thing that upsets you and getting you to see where it is located in your mind. Then he gets you to do the same thing with something that makes you happy. Once you have done both you just have to put the upsetting thing in the same place as the happy thing. By using the techniques that he teaches it can help you live a happier life. Nothing that he talks about in the book is extremely hard it will just require the discipline to keep working at it.

Once we have started learning to master ourselves he then talks about interacting with other people. He teaches about how other people store information and how you can figure it out. After all once you are able to apply his teachings to yourself then you can interpret other people based on that information. Once you can understand the other person then you can have the ability to appear more likeable or to even change their mood without them even realizing it.

Thoughts on Unlimited Power

I really enjoyed this book although it took a little bit for me to get into it. I think the reason it was hard for me to get into it was because of some of the concepts that he was teaching. I know that the information was good but I was finding it hard to relate to it in a real life scenario. Tony Robbins does a great job of presenting the information and then giving great examples to support what he is talking about. He recounts some of his own life experiences as well as those of people in which he has encountered in life.

One of the biggest takeaways from this book for me was the idea of mirroring. I have heard of it being used to get someone to like you but I had never heard of it being used to change someone’s mood. It was very interesting I am excited to continue to practise the ideas that I learned in the book.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to grow as a person. It contains a lot of good information that can be used during any part of your life. Rather that be with yourself, dealing with a spouse or loved one and especially in the workplace. It definitely needs to be one a shelf close by so that you can pull the book out every couple of years and reread it!

Have you read this book? If so, I would love to hear your opinion!

I highly recommend you check out TonyRobbins.com.

So far, I have been keeping up with my goal of reading one book a month!

Look for another new article about a different book next month!

As always I look forward to reading all of your comments and questions, until then….. happy investing!
